AI produces randomware. Change my mind.

  1. A use case I have also is the creation of a switch case from a list of enums
  2. Since there are neurons in our guts it is not so surprising.
  3. Thanks for that nice talk, it felt like a breeze of fresh air with basic & simple yet powerful but alas "forgotten" concepts of UX.

Will look into your other talks.

  4. That's why European Cloud should be sovereign and with European products only.
  5. I don't know why people care so much about a few hundreds of milliseconds for python scripts versus compiled languages that take just ten times less.

Real question : what would you do more with the spared time ? You are that in a hurry in your life ?

  6. Username checks out.
  7. Thanks for searching and finding the source of the graph.
  8. I will stop when the AI bubble will burst and people will stop throwing at my face everyday about statistical models. It is litterally everywhere I look, I did not ask for it even when I filter the inputs.

IMHO it would be nice to have an AI summarizer/filter (see the irony ?) for tech news (hn maybe ?) that filters out everything about AI, LLMs and company.

  9. I'm sorry, but what's the point here ? It's not for a job or improve a LLM or doing something useful per se, just to "enjoy" how version X or Y of an LLM can solve problems.

I don't want to sound grumpy or but it doesn't achieve anything, this is just a showcase of how a "calculator with a small probability of failure can succeed".

Move on, do something useful, don't stop being amazed by AI but please stop throwing it at my face.

  10. RAM also apparently.
  11. As anything measured in the US, any unit will be OK as long as it's not the International System. /s
  12. Kessler syndrome*. For those interested in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kessler_syndrome
  13. I just tested it and I must say congrats. I really enjoy the command palette, the open file menu and the multi cursor. It's well thought, really intuitive so far and I definitively will use it regularly (more once I setup the LSP).

Keep up the good work !

  14. Thanks for that discovery
  15. Thanks for this cool project ! I was desperate to find more modern terminal editors with CUA mode. There is micro which is already good, but I wanted something more and hope your editor will fill that space.
  16. Yes, and more than that, the kernel-level-anticheats are unable to spot someone using a Cronus ( hardware aim assist among other stuff [0] ).

I'm never going to play again online on any FPS because that whole incoherent bubble of crap disgusts me.

The multiplayer games community is toxic, and players are focused on success whatever the cost is. And I don't even want to touch the question of match making with a 10-foot-pole. Local, self-hosted or in small community is the best.

  17. In your website you could use https://highlightjs.org/ to syntax highlight the blocks of code.
  18. You're right, the best is a metal lid.
  19. That's right, the best is to have a watered dishcloth that will suffocate the fire, hence stopping it. The fire extinguisher may be a bad idea because the pressure will spread burning oil around across the kitchen and the water is definitively the worse idea because it will counterintuitively make a bigger flame and also spread burning oil.
