  1. In Castilian Spanish it's called "imperdible" which means unlossable/unmissable, which results in the ironic occurrence of finding a lost one or losing yours.
  2. > The ring watch’s screen even has a light, and an alarm function that will flash the display instead of playing an audible sound

That is a bit... Underwhelming isn't it?

  3. It started the trend of adding tons of incremental permanent power increasing microunlocks to games with roguelike elements that I don't like because it encourages farming instead of learning the game. Specially at the beginning where you know you are not gonna win, not because you don't know the game, but because there is an artificial wall blocking the way until you spend x hours grinding the metacurrency.
  4. This is what id software did with doom and see how it ended

    hint: extremely well

  5. One thing is customer support and the other is user support. There is few to none of the latter.

Regarding the former, my company pays for google workspace and an agent happily answered our questions about the recent less secure apps password phasing out process.

  6. Is that a real catch, though? The intel chip requires good cooling too to perform well, doesn't it?

Maybe is the Apple's chip more limited in multithread tasks vs Intel's one

  7. I had selfsteem problems growing up derived from my narcissistic mother.

What am I then? Autistic or psycopath?

  8. > stating the obvious

If interpersonal relationships were obvious we would not need abuse laws nor CPS.

  9. Most self-help is easy to write and difficult to apply, specially if it's written in a generic matter like in a book or in a blog post.

This doesn't mean it can't be helpful. I know because some self help knowledge in the past has helped me.

  10. No, they aren't. French puts the stress generally at the end of the word (vs languages like Spanish where the stress varies but is fixed and can't be used by the speaker to emphasize anything)
  11. It's not about the wavelength, it's about the power.

I use shorter or higher wavelengths (depends on the channel in question) to cook my food every day but my phone sure doesn't emit 700W

  12. Samsung phones with android 14 do have the dot for the mic and camera usage, too
  13. They weren't found until Tuesday afternoon.

Two full workdays in the office with no colaboration

  14. Betteridge's Law of Headlines
  15. Chinese retroconsoles aren't that expensive but some "collectors" have a serious case of GAS

  17. I was able to build some relationships going to Lindy Hop dancing however the pandemic struck and it was difficult mantaining them
  18. Isn't it exactly what they are saying?
  19. I love Anki, but it is a tough sell to Apple users because it costs 20 frigging bucks where on other OSs is free
  20. In Spain 60% of companies don't survive the 5 year mark [1]. That's what I think when people say that making a company is hard.

  21. > By the way, on my recent visit to Europe, there still was a total in francs "for information" on the receipt from a random grocery store in Paris.

As an european: that's a problem. Why? Inflation. People who still change regularly to the old currency only do so for some of their finances AND romanticise the past.

  22. My problem is usually at the back of the feet, at the heels, usually the external side

    Thanks for the tips though

  23. leather would be pretty darn perfect if leather shoes didn't need a break-in period.

I'm extremely weary of leather shoewear because I've suffered too many sores in my life, specially when I was a child. I'd like to have comfy shoes that last long but the break in period...

  24. So complexity is liquid and bureaucracy, a gas?
  25. It's in the second paragraph

    > juvenile males who spend more time practicing will father more offspring as adults.

Your attempt at stir controversy doesn't even reach the bar for 'low effort'

  26. Balearic sea is spelled as Baelish sea. (B2)
  27. Depends on where you live.

My nephew didn't have an smartphone until he was 12-13 I think.

He had a tablet at home and a switch though.

There is a region-wide push to prohibit smartphone usage for primary school children (<12yr)

  28. Can parental controls help in this case?
  29. I just HOPE I'm mistaken but until they support reading and writing ext4 fs WSL won't feel complete to me
