  1. After decades of a liberal and left senate, Berliners reelected CDU who bankrupted Berlin 25 years ago.
  2. If it is no longer closed, it might proliferate just like Linux once it gathers a critical amount of users. :)
  3. Hacked and defaced? Cyber security at a low point.
  4. When it comes to urban design, I consider balcony solar panels to be less of a nuisance than cars on the streets.
  5. Is Freedom of Speech only meant for US citizens?
  6. So, this puts the Python runtime on Node.js' battle-proven libuv?
  7. Very interesting. How do I view without X?
  8. There's a Github link but there are no repos. How do I package this for my favourite Linux distro?
  9. fvwm95, or newer: https://github.com/jcs/progman

I'd love a similar compositor for Wayland.

  10. > L4S pulls this off by giving internet packets an indicator that lets them know if they’ve run into congestion or queueing along any of the hops in their trip between a user and whatever they’re connecting to.

Sounds a lot like ECN (RFC 3168) which was specified in 2001.

  11. Before FB had global world domination, a clone called StudiVZ was fairly popular in Germany. It was regarded at least as controversial.
  12. There is no source code either for the WiFi stuff in the ESP8266.
  13. What does that mean for terraforming? Establish a magnetosphere first so that solar winds don't drag away an atmosphere?
  14. For Deutsche Telekom fiber you don't need no special router. Dial in with PPPoE over VLAN 7 similar to VDSL, minus the VDSL modem.

  22. Napoleon Bonaparte
  23. I've been hacking on a Chrome App for the past few weeks and have been wondering how to open a tab instead of a new window. That announcement leaves me confused: what's new exactly? Is it even possible that the new stuff has been in the docs for months?
  24. Oh dear, can't listen to that on headphones. Built-in microphones and VoIP quality make my ears hurt. Listening to sophisticated podcasters definitely spoils you.
  25. Yes, that is what SILC is for. It has been around for really long.
  26. It would be lovely if they could add support functions for:

    RFC6901: JSON Pointer

    RFC6902: JSON Patch

  27. I still use a Nexus One class (HTC Desire) which seems to have specs that are on par. I want Firefox OS but why would I buy another device with the same functionality?
  28. tl;dr

Use EXPLAIN ANALYZE and read the manual.

  29. I'm super excited by this but where are the specs?
