- The battery is the single reason why I got the Amazfit. I use as a dumb health tracker and occasional GPS running. It easily lasts 4 weeks on a single charge. That's one less proprietary charging cable to bring on a trip.
- As someone who' just counting steps, I'm genuinely curious what's your average steps per day? And how many steps over 10 years?
- And here I thought after reading the headline: finally a reliable Arabic OCR. I've never in my life found a good that does the job decently especially for a scanned document. Or is there something out there I don't know about?
- I wouldn't say it's a downgrade, but I had to run Windhawk and other mods just to make sure the start menu doesn't look like a phone's app drawer.
- Interestingly while the minorities have a higher birth rate compared to the majority Chinese, the ethnic breakdown remains the exact same throughout the decades. This is because Singapore's unsaid migration policy is such that the government takes in more immigrants of Chinese ethnicity to make up for the shortfall.

- I always have this problem. Not sure if I want the mouse pad to be totally deactivated while typing. I don't mind the pointer moving (might be a valid input anyway), but the clicking should be disabled so that the typing doesn't accidentally appear on an unintended area of the screen.
- Well these days they call it ASMR. But you're right he's one of the first to strip away all unnecessary sounds. Makes for a very therapeutic video.

- I like your idea of the search engine. It's what I miss from Google. At one time (2006?) we had the option to google search only forums and discussions, and that helped me get quality answers to my queries.

- I'm not a big fan of the Saudi government, but people die in stampedes there EVERY year? As someone who follows the hajj closely, the last stampede was in 2015, and previously 2006. Not that these are insignificant, but they are a rarity considering some 2 million people descend into a small city over a 10 day period. And there have been commendable efforts to avoid a repeat.
- How about foreign languages? I've never had one good enough for Arabic. 3 years ago when needed it for a project, no OCR I found could read a properly scanned Arabic page. Had to go on Fiverr and paid a transcriber instead.
- Myprotein is one of bigger brands in the UK and many other countries. Wonder if it can be included?
- Been using Kagi too. Search results are pretty decent, and sometimes better. Problem is that I need Google almost exclusively for shopping and price comparison. Wonder if there's any other websites that can replicate this (non-US).
- Now they have to find a way to make iPlayer accessible to those residing outside the UK. They've got decent programs but an even more impressive anti VPN detector.
- Ona tangential note, I remember a time when Google had the option to search only for 'discussions'. The results were amazing and accurate as it scoured online forums. Almost all issue I had (was following the rooting scene closely back then) were quickly resolved. Then suddenly it got removed for reasons unknown to me. Anyone knows if it's replicatable today?
- I host a hobby website and use WordPress for everything. Even as an entry level user, I agree the amount of plugins are ridiculous.
But it's free and I only pay for hosting. Anyone knows what are the alternatives for someone like me?

- I speak both a 'most efficient' language (Arabic) and a 'least efficient' (Malay).
My take ia that while Arabic is a very concise language, the learning curve is really steep. Verbs has to be conjugated to accommodate pronouns as well as tense. So in order to say 'I ate', the root word akala has to be conjugated to akaltu. Sometimes the conjugation becomes so complex that it hardly looks like its root word.
Malay meanwhile, while seemingly less efficient, is much more straight forward. There is no need to conjugate verbs. Instead to say 'I ate', you say saya (I) sudah (already) makan (eat). It's very accessible to beginners.
I think it's also interesting to see how complex a language can get in order to become efficient. Like can you combine more than pronouns and tenses in a single word to make it more efficient.
