- i think the difference from when i grew up is that there were many baby photos of me but they were hard to find and view, you needed to go to the persons house and look through all their photos to find them.
if i look at my brothers kids, their phones will be full to the brim with 1000's of photos of them. we have whatsapp groups filled with their photos.
i wonder how interested they'll be when they're 40 to see these photos. perhaps a few, but all of them?

- yep, definitely a bug - seems like with when getting a winning of aces after the second deal. interestingly if you get a pair of jacks you get your winnings correctly. guessing aces are low.

- The thing is, along with all the large subreddits, it's all these niche subreddits that have helped train all these LLM to be able to do the things they can do.
If reddit is thinking that their content is king, then closing subreddits that help generate that content is not ideal for them.
- yep. why spend more time to achieve the same effect? as long as you've marked the elements as "invisible" so a screen reader wont read them both out, and it works, what really matters.
of all things, the extra few divs and css isn't gonna cause issues here.
- It's honestly like a cult and a desire to want to "do it right" on AWS. The last few projects I've spent so much time setting up code deploy, load balancers, certificates, SES, route 53... This newest project, I've gone to heroku with everything being basically a few clicks to get setup.

- Why is everyone banging on about this. It's a blog post from the same day, a decent post mortem takes a while to put together and assuming the bug isn't fully patched across their entire CDN, why would they post the information.
- yeah. the dns was up. the problem was the servers weren't able to proxy the traffic. Also, as you say, you'll probably end up bringing down the upstream servers if you just fail open (and not even sure that'd be a possibility with fastly in it's "down" state that we saw).

- I used to see their advert come up in certain places and I actually clicked through once to check the footer if they were owned by Slack. Loading the page didn't help because as it's in the similar market sector.
