  1. One of the coolest things I've seen this year! A true labor of love!
  2. Why does Anthropic even allow this crap? Isn't such use against their ToS?
  3. I think Sam Altman popularized it with his tweets during the height of OpenAI, GPT popularity ~2023. Or maybe it was already trending by then but at least for me he was the first among prominent people to be doing it.
  4. Not a single mention of privacy though? What browser content / activity will Claude record? For how long will it be kept? Will it be used for training? Will humans potentially review it?
  5. "Coursera to Combine with Udemy to Empower the Global Workforce with Skills for the AI Era"

Incredibly sad to hear this. Coursera was transformative for my education and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it changed my life for the better.

I know these open courseware platforms have been bad for many years now but this feels like the final nail in the coffin for Coursera. I'm just grateful my education happened to overlap with the advent of the open courses movement and before they realized it was never going to be profitable.

  6. The newer one is from late May: https://arxiv.org/abs/2505.23735
  7. What an amazing quote!
  8. I don't think it has a debugger but if you just want to try out something in Rust quickly: play.rust-lang.org
  9. Is Rust still "non-mainstream"? Because it's extremely well suited for AoC. The ergonomics of a high-level language with the performance of C++.
  10. I was never really a fan of Cursor. I'll use this if it's free and eventually gets generous free quotas.
  11. Bless this man! I despise Goodreads but continue to use it, because there are no real alternatives. It feels like they outsourced the creation of that website to some cheap consulting agency in a low cost location and then left it at that. For example, Goodreads hasn't updated its outdated version of React in years.

For a while now I have really wanted good book recommendations matching my tastes. The LLMs suck at this (likely due to the mode collapse that Karpathy mentioned in his excellent podcast appearance on Dwarkesh) and Amazon is very good but only recommends based on the current book you're browsing.

I will try this out now! But could you increase the number of books fed to the recommender or maybe get the top-64 highest rated books instead of just the most or least recent 64?

  12. I like your idea of doing some amount of uncomfortable work every day, internalizing it until it becomes second nature. Any tips on how to start? (other than just do it) :)
  13. I was expecting something ugly but these actually look beautiful!
  14. Why not use Deno instead of Node.js for the backend? For a product like this could the extra security that Deno's sandbox provides help?
  15. Off topic but does anyone know what exactly Sutskever's SSI (mentioned in the article and with a valuation of $32B...) is up to? They have released... well... absolutely nothing in the year+ of existence.
  16. Should we assume "GPT-5" still just means the LLM? It could mean 'GPT-5 the system' which means the model has RAG, tools to use it, and maybe fine-tuned to call those tools.
  17. I expect it's their SREs who are dealing with this mess.
  18. The human 'benevolence factor' has gone up throughout history as we've advanced and become more civilized. If AI is even more advanced than us then why is it naive to assume it will be more benevolent than us?
  19. What's a red flag is that there are 3 new accounts commenting on this reply and all are in agreement supporting your view.

Edit: apparently there's some confusion about my comment. I neither use, like, or support Next. I just found it suspicious that a bunch of new accounts showed up making generic comments in support of OP, which to me was a red flag.

  20. Any idea how Browserbase solves CAPTCHA? Wouldn't be surprised if it sends requests to some "click farm" in a low cost location where humans solve captchas all day :\
