  1. I may be mistaken - But the Hot App has been doing this for a few years if I remember correctly - In more than one way as it supports past and current architectures...
  2. I appreciate this post as I think too many folks focus on the end before understanding what made it there. It's kind of asking what's the movie about before watching it or especially movie trailers that essentially shows way too much.

We should all take some time to better understand what brought us here to be better prepared for general creative work and uniqueness in the future...

  3. Everything about cals is starting to get very boring - Standing walking etc makes for decent blood flow and so much more for your body - Stop focusing on cals and just bring some movement in your life.
  4. They actually knew exactly what to do but hey debated the outcomes - The rest were just desperate for attention and did whatever they could - very simple thought.
  5. Google had LLM's long before OpenAI did ...
  6. Most of these automations get easily killed off - I suggest learning to go deep and focus.
  7. Well said and on point.
  8. I'm not against governments helping out companies per se in different forms but the question remains "Why are they there and what's the impact if they fall?"

It's been done many times in the past decades from financial institutions, manufacturing, others and in different ways.

Remember Harley-Davidson and tarifs on imported motorcycles?

I think the real question becomes how will get done and for how long.

  9. UAD drivers have always been very creative... lol
  10. A golden rule that has been very decent in the last decades - When my mom starts asking me "What's up with this tech" - it's most usually is a bubble ;)
  11. Alcohol is a toxin that your liver must work to break down, provides empty calories with no nutritional value, disrupts sleep quality, impairs judgment and coordination, and even moderate consumption increases risks of cancer, heart disease, and other health problems. Any perceived benefits are vastly outweighed by these inherent harms.
  12. Back in the 90's my dad and I put a more than 500k on a Volvo 740 and mostly running original parts (oil filters, brakes etc were changed throughout the decade 84/96 - Québec winters included).

The car ran fine and was ultimately sold to a taxi driver that apparently brought it to close to a million (no proof though).

I think now days people treat cars like phones. Minimal continual maintenance can work wonders and save you a bundle in the process.

  13. Jobs sold dreams - Cook sells accessories.

Apple is now a lifestyle brand with a supply chain.

  14. Apple did many - Just not the right or good ones in the past decade.
  15. True. But in this case Apple isn't only a bit late but completely lost with AI - Efforts driven towards AR for years absolutely killed their game.
  16. I have to admit - outside of cost and core values differences - Adobe has been an early player and often overlooked - but the company smells so bad that I guess they're a little looking for it.
  17. Exactly and that's why we're here - against all odds you do your best to make things right - that's THE job.
  18. On point - Can you imagine it's 2025 and I still can't customize my iOS keyboard... but we now have Liquid Glass
  19. The second i saw Liquid Glass I started laughing out loud in the office - it made me think of The Abyss (1989) when the liquid tentacles come into the habitat...
  20. For the time being - These are just another type of search engine - just with "better" answers.
  21. It does both - On when this app runs and off again when out - Perfect setup for my poor little blue eyes
  22. Maybe ridiculous from my part - but I think if they at least had to go hand written with these it could transfer a bit more knowledge back to the brain...

Simply blaming models is an easy way out and creates little value - Maybe changing the medium and exercise to which it transfers could be a thing?

    It's time to get creative.

  23. I use it daily to turn my iOS device to low power when I use a photo and video app - this little trick turns off HDR that I profoundly detest and can't visually stand for.
  24. Interesting as I've never been able to find one good source - Consumer of news and podcasts around 10 hours a day here - Some comments - USA centric to the core, in app font size control/colors, much bigger buttons everywhere, AI voice much deeper controls - Cheers and thanks for sharing.
  25. Very interesting - for a moment while reading I thought anomie was utilized in the text - just to take a moment and go back to clearly see anomia - all good now.
  26. Fascism thrives on dividing society into an idealized "us" versus a demonized "them." This binary worldview positions groups under existential threat, requiring extraordinary measures and leadership to survive...

Listen to him today and it's exactly that.

  27. Professional limits...
  28. CSP is a soothing cream but is most usually easily bypassed by other simple attacks relying on poor DOM management and security - to this day my team has never found so many web vulnerabilities just going into the DOM...
  29. Absolutely & very well said - my contention lies in the fact that certain skills are just that - technical. Especially when it comes to architecture, code, complex systems and so on.

I don't mind an illiterate Executive when it comes to basic manufacturing, cosmetics and so on - but when it comes to STEM subjects it becomes a dangerous gamble - especially when it comes to recognize a strong vs weak player.

Too many times I've seen weaker players get bumped up as the executive in charge is somewhat incompetent...

I've been lucky as my family forged my communication skills at a young age - but these days this is rare and I see extremely competent young players get sidelined quite rapidly... Hope is a mystery, but can be found.
