  1. I agree with #DefundThePolice, buts that’s not his current position and he’s kept the police chief from the prior administration.
  2. Until we have many redundant layers of backup, the risk of drugging copilot and going down is a non zero risk that triggered many of these policies.
  3. This is precisely what allows for the NHS to be cannibalized. They underfunded one of the best systems of healthcare and replaced it with private care for ultra wealthy while reducing quality of care for vast majority of people.
  4. And some US allies have seen no change, I’m hoping that’s not a metric for which countries to invade.
  5. Wing-nut? Is that now the census for the majority of the world outside of the US and UK? If we’re looking at legal precedent, then not taking action could see massive legal challenges that could destroy Microsoft for complicity in genocide.
  6. Mine came with an magnetic anti-sag bar and it was badly needed
  7. I think I’d probably say that the prompts are telling me more about the author than I think is necessary for these tests… I hope they were at least sampled from responses.
  8. Management consult grift is reaching its inevitable end. They’ll cut out the management and insert AI consultants.
  9. Some countries with state gas or utility monopoly will ensure legislation blocks solar power. Example Thailand has huge solar potential but cheap gas, so they block solar panel installations

Yes, there is inequality as can be seen in Pakistan. But once restrictions are dropped the solar panels take off.

  10. We’re living in a time of income inequality and this is the natural result.
  11. Is this an AI comment? They have vast business interest and contracts with Israel.
  12. I lost my wife before they developed sickle cell treatments recently. Knowing the pain she went through everyday, makes me grateful that children soon will not have to know that pain. Thank you for sharing your story.
  13. When I see sub 40 percent approval rate for both parties in congress… we’ve almost reached the moment where a majority of people believe both democrats and republicans have a negative view yet the 3rd parties will remain elusive due to gerrymandering districts.
  14. They have developed zero click exploits before
  15. I’ve asked myself why my grandparents did not try to overthrow their Nazi regime. They were not the most immoral people on the surface, they just viewed their actions happening as the only way of survival. I think the answer lies in seeing what really happening instead of what’s portrayed as happening on their propaganda outlets. Articles like this start to transition people away from supporting fascism if they are believed.
  16. Sadly this trend is echoed in the US as well since 2023 many have been arrested for their freedom of speech https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3rnzp4ye5zo
  17. One faces consequences when breaking the law, the other is tasked with breaking the law in the name of upholding it
  18. Meanwhile palantir is training AI models that assassinate journalist. Ethics are a major part of tech, we can make decisions that distribute billions in relief or execute millions.
  19. For the wealthy not the poor
  20. Maybe this will finally encourage us to move away from centralized services and create truly decentralized social networks outside of our own governments reach.
  21. Unless they are accurate most of the time, I would agree with this.
  22. Money, also they fake I drink X coke a day while knowing he can pay for any medication or doctor in the world. The humble rich is a facade to stay in power.
  23. It’s the end result of building a system of engagement over meaningful interaction. The more time spent watching ads disguised as content, the greater the profits.
  24. Responding to a deleted comment on tech control:

They do already, google, Microsoft, meta, Amazon all AI defense contractors using their technology to suppress negative feedback to their involvement in military contracts. Police using surveillance to spy on journalists phones. Healthcare approval completely automated by AI and school that don’t know difference between student or AI homework.

  25. The richest already have nearly 50% of buying power. Elon Musk can make cities building rockets the size of skyscrapers. You don’t have to look forward, you can look at the past robber barons for examples. Yes it’s bad for the economy but it’s great for a few people who acquire wealth.
  26. This assumes that a less resources intensive future awaits or that conflict driven by lack of employment doesn’t lead to the end of AI.
  27. Yup, limit residents and percentage grading ensure that doctors are in short supply. Compare to the extremely streamline jr Doctor programs in the UK.
  28. I’ve been watching documentaries since I was kid that do the same thing every few years. At least we’ve finally given up the were 10 years away from living forever.
