I am a Scottish ex-patriot, living and working from a small island outside Vancouver, Canada. - Lol like ordinary programmers have a such a great ethical reputation... Cambridge Analytica, Ad Platforms, and on and on.
- There's a lot of 'just' handwaving here about compiling without telemetry. We just need to look as far as VSCode, which is riddled with unremovable telemetry, and the entire project of VSCodium which has to exist to provide telemetry free versions, and still cannot remove all of it. You're discounting the complete waste of human time and effort required to undo something that should simply not exist in the first place.
In terms of the open GH issues, people are pretty vocal about which ones they think are most important to fix, as is the case for most popular projects. It's simply not true that the Go team have no way of knowing which of the open issues are most important to the community.
- Do you have source on item #2? I've been looking for some to back this point, but can't find any.
- The last time I looked into the state of the art when writing web apps in Clojure, people were hand crafting SQL statements in the data layer, and the community seemed fine with this. Have things improved?
- Yeah, Elixir is great, but zealots keep acting like it's happening, and it is totally not happening.

- Uggh I know exactly what you mean - I happened to see folks mentioning the rule change on the Canada visa forum and scrambled my application together just in time, and it was AoR the day before the change.
That really sucks man!
- High five! I've just done the same and just passed the citizenship test. Canada is awesome.
- Lots of rural communities, like the one I live in, have a central mail box location where we go to collect our mail. That one location services about 50 properties. FedEx or any courier deliver to the local post office in town. It all works quite well, and it's not so bad having to go out to get your mail, since you usually need other things from town too.
- I can see how you would naively assume that it's something to do with some CSS issue, but it's nothing to do with CSS. We're trying to use a brand new technology for the first time using libraries that have just been written, and newsflash not all browsers behave the same way.
The browser block is up while we figure out where the cracks are during _this prototype_.

- Relaunched in the sense that the site used to belong to Marc-Andre Cournouyer and he launched it in 2012, and it was all based on Twitter Bootstrap 2.
We're the new owners and have invested a huge amount of time updating that original theme, and starting new themes!
