Hi! I'm an OSS Developer https://github.com/Krutonium And a Twitch Streamer https://twitch.tv/PFCKrutonium

  1. They also said there was nothing coming for SteamDeck in terms of better hardware about a week before they launched the OLED.
  2. Seamless Mode didn't work for anything newer than... XP, I think, as a guest? So it makes sense they'd drop it. Fun while it lasted though!
  3. I think it's important to remember that Dotnet projects can use code built for older releases; to an almost absurd degree, and if you don't go to before the .NET Framework divide, you largely don't even need to change anything to move projects to newer frameworks. They largely just work.

The .Net platform is honestly the most stable it has ever been.

  4. To be fair, if this keeps up, expect the price of a PS5 to skyrocket too.
  5. >I have sometimes been told its unprofessional or looks bad to run things yourself instead of using a managed service.

That's an incredibly bad take lol.

There are times where "The Cloud" makes sense, sure. But in my experience the majority of the time companies over-use the cloud. On Prem is GOOD. It's cheaper, arguably more secure if you configure it right (a challenge, I know, but hear me out) and gives you data sovereignty.

I don't quite think companies realize how bad it would be if EG AWS was hacked.

Any Data you have on the cloud is no longer your data. Not really. It's Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, whoevers.

  6. That's only kind of true; Wine itself supports older versions of DirectX with the target API being OpenGL instead of Vulkan. It's just not quite super performant and kinda buggy. That said, there's other wrappers you can use to convert older DirectX versions into new ones, and if you can get to DirectX 8 or 9, now you've got DXVK.
  7. I know you're joking but truth be told, he did fold it wrong.
  8. Sure, but teaching the original as a fundamental building block would still be just that.
  9. ...Were you not before?
  10. >Sometimes setting up a WINE environment is worth it, but I'd argue that as long ss you still need to use the CLI to create environments, it's not there yet. Proton has been amazing for better support.

Go grab an installation of Bottles and prepare to be amazed.

  11. NotepadNext is a damn near perfect Linux clone of NP++.
  12. Honestly, probably just Candy Crush. Lets be real, if Microsoft wanted to hide code somewhere, the world is literally their oyster, they don't need to Trojan Horse it into a game.
  13. Windows 10/11 S is that path. Microsoft has walked it already; They just have to push the net wider over time.
  14. ...You're computing a hash, not making accounts or anything else that relies on obscurity though?
  15. I think the second to last one should also be checked. Most implementations include Government Sponsored Identity Theft.
  16. They're not the last time I looked.
  17. For those of you in the US (I'm Canadian), there is a bill in congress right now that would make it illegal for any financial service provider to directly or indirectly prohibit or inhibit any legal transaction. It's called the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.401 in the Senate. Call your representatives. Get it passed.

Edit: Oh yeah and feel free to copy, paste, share this around, make people AWARE of this, because nobody is! Of course, change if you're not Canadian, but like... Make it happen.

  18. Amusingly I actually have Video of Atari's Lead of Marketing playing OpenRCT2 on Stream, giving away RCT2 Keys to promote RCT World. To this day, Atari has left us alone though, so yeah it's pretty much not worth it to them to try anything.
  19. Absolutely. They just have to license it, and that license can be for a nominal (think $1) cost.

That said, Lego doesn't own the game, so if it came down to it, they could strip all the references to "Lego" from it and probably be fine.

  20. But does it carry the Rusty guarantees?
