  1. Would you mind sharing the prompt please?
  2. Driving Sims, PavlovVR was a must play for a counterstrike shooter with great modding scene. Of course Skyrim VR, it's unplayable without mods but with voice recognition and QOL mods it's incredible,
  3. How to get the most out of with Claude Code as a beginner
  4. For anyone like me who was struggling to manage work and personal Claude subscriptions, you can just use an alias like this:

    alias claude-personal="CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=~/.claude-personal claude"

    https://julesrosser.com/blog/Multiple-Claude-accounts.html

  5. You could also define a subagent that uses Opus, for special cases such as planning
  6. Does anyone have an archived link?
  7. > 95% of profitable customers have iPhones

Maybe in the US... This works for hobbyists or single devs, but clearly isn't realistic for most companies.

  8. Agree with this. Coming from native Android there's a lot I miss, but being able to compile to Android, iOS, Desktop, Web & mWeb saves us an insane amount of time.

Thankfully we have the budget to work with expert maintainers and sponsor external libraries which allows us to reduce some of the pain.

  9. The US company I work for is remote first and we hire all around the world.

Not sure how helpful this is, but our method is that if we have a registered company in their country they will be hired as a typical employee. Anyone hired in a country we don't have a corporate presence in is hired as a contractor.

  10. I hate to defend the government, but I don't think this policy is that Draconian. While sad, if an owner can't control their dog and it attacks someone then I think it's a reasonable reaction.
  11. Great resource! I found this site a couple of months ago when looking for help structuring levels.

Specifically, this page was useful: https://book.leveldesignbook.com/process/layout

  12. For fun? To learn? Having an engaged audience of over 1/4M also helps.
  13. The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages is another great example. It looks the same as it did 10 years ago. Not sure how they are funded though.

  14. Legitimately useful. As someone working remotely I'm always wary of waking US colleagues up with my unimportant notifications.

I'd definitely use a '% of team members online' Slackbot

  15. Weird, I have never seen carrier bloat on any Google phone (Nexus5...Pixel6A). Is this because of EU legislation?
  16. Love this. Would be a great addition to the 'model my local tube station' project that's probably going to remain on my to-do list for ever
  17. I only see one recent applicant from Thailand, but we welcome applications regardless of where they live (with a few obvious exceptions). I don’t want to dox any colleagues by listing individual countries as we’re a relatively small company, but we have hired from 6/7 continents in the last 12 months (all except Antarctica).

Also happy to answer any other questions you have. And again, if anyone reading this is interested, please take a look at our open roles [0]. This is one of many, many things which makes the company great [1].

  18. I agree some companies don't really mean it when they claim to be remote first, but at Expensify we truly are. Please apply if you like the sound of our open roles :)

  19. Thanks for sharing this. That's correct, we are 100% remote first and you are not required to move to a city where we have offices. It's an optional perk.
  20. We do at Expensify. A good % of our team works fully remote: https://we.are.expensify.com/benefits-perks

Also, check out remotewide.co for a list of remote companies with location independent pay. I think this is exactly what you're looking for.

  21. That's what our company does and it's an incredible perk. All expense paid trips with planned events and child care. Even pets are welcome.
  22. There were plans for three circular motorways in central London. Thankfully people came to their senses and it was only partially completed.
  23. Same here, we must have been lucky. My early experience in agencies were fantastic.

It was only when I began contracting that I started to encounter scrappy companies, which made it a lot easier to deal with the dysfunction. We often had the perm benefits, a decent day rate, could clock out on the hour, and didn't have to take part in internal politics. Blissful in comparison to the perm roles.

  24. F: Emailed the company after seeing their post in a HN: Who's hiring thread
  25. At least with the subscription they pay 3% on up to 4k cash, essentially covering the cost (assuming you have an emergency fund/cash available).
  26. Would you mind sharing what could have been done to prevent the last minute PAYE shock? Was this something that could have been avoided, or an inevitably that you should have been made aware of sooner?

Also, as you mention a $USD, did you receive UK EMI options?

    Thanks for sharing!

  27. The map men / unfinished London series are great, Jay Foreman is a national treasure.
  28. Nice work, great improvement to similar sites.
