  1. Also worth checking out https://www.goodnotes.com Everyone in my school(including the teachers!) uses it for assignments and textbooks
  2. Not only can it pass FRQs, but I have also been using it to solve AP CSA Multiple Choice questions. Most of the time, it spits out the correct choice with a valid justification. A pretty helpful tool for students new to computer science! (though one shouldn't be doing AP CSA without prior CS knowledge as it ruins one's interest in computer science IMO)
  3. For the use cases of question and answering, especially regarding technology, ChaGPT is indeed more flexible and convenient compared to Google and will surely replace a large part of this use case. However, Google is still irreplaceable as an index for the entire internet, and it will remain how we find content created by other _people_.
  4. First time getting rick rolled in plain text :)
  5. Mobile typing experience IS terrible for anything other than routine work IMO. The fact that your keyboard takes up half of your already small screen space and that you'll have to look at your keyboard to type is a massive inhibitant for productivity. Not to mention the constant autocorrecting if you are doing any industry-specific work.
  6. THIS is why I read HN everyday
  7. I think I can get used to both the new UI and the old one, as personal preference doesn't really matter that much.

That being said, I really agree with the text that the design to be chosen should be based on A/B testing and whether the design improvement leads to an improvement in productivity.

  8. Interesting. I'll be switching from Logseq to Obsidian as the outline-only mode in Logseq felt limiting.
  9. Exactly, when you want to download JetBrian fleet, you'll first have to download their "JetBrain Toolbox", which looks and functions VERY similar to the adobe CC menubar app.
  10. Vivaldi - The most customizable browser on the market.

Grammarly - Makes my writing not embarrassing.

Rust - Allows me to write clean code without bugs.

Python - Let me do amazing things with a few lines of code.

    Vim - I can't live without hjkl :)

Z - Liberates my hand from cd ls

zsh&oh-my-zsh - Simple and customizable shell that looks amazing

macOS - An OS that I can live with

VPNs & proxies - The only reason I'm visiting this fantastic website

Free hosting services - Allows me to grow as a programmer

    OmniFocus - Get things done

Notion - Express my thought with my own structure

    Bartender - Declutters my menubar

  11. Did you use a rust web framework such as actix or just plain Rust?
  12. A fun and quite immersive experience! Wouldn't want to live here due to all the noise but sure would love a visit.
  13. True. I get traffic from google with technical blogs, but no body really gives a damn about who you are as a person, your interests other than coding etc.
  14. Agreed. I still give Python credit for allowing us to write software in an extremely efficient way. But after I wrote the initial version of the software with Python, I always procrastinate on testing, fixing existing issues, and as the software grows larger I simply want to give up as the different issues keep piling up. In comparison, Rust code usually just works out of the box due to the error handling and type system designs. With rust I develop much more consistently, and even more efficiently as the project progresses due to IDE hints, rust's built in `cargo check`, `cargo clippy` commands etc.
  15. Looking forward for all the integrations with code editors etc. (if they would provide APIs)
  16. Wait... there are "free Apple Developer Certificates"?
