- You say that, but the crazy people at Microsoft put a COPILOT function into Excel already...

- I do not understand why Google doesn't just explicitly permit people who pay for premium to use yt-dlp or other tools to watch YouTube however the fuck they want. Put that in your terms, Google -- so people aren't afraid they'll lose their GMail because they wanted to watch a video -- and you'll get more paying customers...
- Depending on the nature of your code, just throwing pypy at it instead of cpython can be a huge win. This very much depends on what you're doing though. For example, I have a graphics editor I wrote that is unbearably slow with cpython; with pypy and no other changes it's usable.
If what you're trying to do involves tasks that can be done in parallel, the multithreading (if I/O bound) or multiprocessing (if compute bound) libraries can be very useful.
If what you're doing isn't conducive to either, you probably need to rewrite at least the critical parts in something else.
- If this continues for much longer, local/state governments can, should, and eventually will commandeer the taxes that currently go to the federal government. There is no point in paying federal tax if the federal government is no longer functional. States are already trying to step up with emergency declarations to enable financial support to work around SNAP being unfunded; passing state laws to redirect useless federal taxes to fund state food programs in order to prevent the alternative of immediate violent revolution as millions of people go hungry is an obvious course of action when they exhaust that capacity...
- Something weird I've noticed in Firefox lately -- and been wondering if it's related to these sorts of features -- is that if I leave Firefox open for a relatively long time (e.g. a few hours) NoScript will show whatever my search engine is set to as a script injection on all pages (with a "sidebar?" note). This happens even if I do not interact with the browser during that time. If I restart Firefox, then it goes away (until a long period of time elapses again).
Anyone have insight on why that's happening?
- In computer graphics, 4x4 matrices let you do a rotation and a translation together (among other things). There's the 3x3 rotation block you found later as well as a translation vector embedded in it. Multiplying a sequence of 4x4 matrices together accumulates the rotations and translations appropriately as if they were just a bunch of function applications. i.e. rotate(translate(point)) is just rotation_matrix * translation_matrix * point_vector if you construct your matrices properly. Multiplying a 4x4 matrix with another 4x4 matrix yields a 4x4 matrix result, which means that you can store an arbitrary chain of rotations and translations accumulated together into a single matrix...
- > I'd assume most adblock users on web would disable it to continue watching.
This is not a safe assumption. Personally, I've stopped using YouTube entirely for entertainment; the level of annoyance dealing with it vs the value I get out of it is just not worth it any more. I'm doing other things with my time now instead of watching YouTube. Some of that is watching video on other platforms, and some of that is spending time on other hobbies instead.

Just another way to rob the country.

- > The site recently lost a significant income stream when Patreon rugpulled their account.
The community rallied in response to that and support poured in. Their funding needs are currently met by the community. What matters is that people actually give enough of a shit about it to pitch in. We can have nice things!
- A good alternative is catbox.moe
It fills the niche imgur originally did (i.e. no bullshit image host) but uses a community funding model instead. I'm pitching in $20 every month to keep it from turning into imgur. If you were thinking of putting something on imgur, please just put it on catbox instead and toss a couple bucks their way once in a while so we can continue to have nice things.
