  1. Wasn't there a phone with a lens mount system using that maker's existing lens eco system? I cant remember the maker. Sony? Nikon?
  2. Fun to look at! Since I also had a mini project, that utilized this data. Sadly, haven't maintained it in awhile. It's a Show HN on my profile if you're curious.

I hope you had a better time with ingesting the data than I did :)

  3. I'm a huge fan of the original PSP and the homebrew/jailbreaking scene that came out of it. I recently acquired a PS Vita and have been enjoying it's native and homebrew offerings. It's also surprising that the homebrew scene is still fairly active there too. Apparently there's some potential for Android game ports. I wish Sony didn't let the PS Vita flop, it feels like it had so much potential at the time.
  4. Thanks for this!

Been trying to get this work with VSCode with a project I'm trying to make sense of. Having to take a pause on it right now, but looking forward to getting it working and playing with it.

  5. These days across all languages, I just default to a Jupyter notebook.
  6. For a second I thought we had a breakthrough in getting custom firmware for printers, namely HP. But yes CUPs is awesome!
  7. I can somewhat justify the cost of mid and full size SUVs currently, but still hate that you're looking to spend about 40-60k, more if luxury. The "popularity" of the segment has pushed makers to actually put some effort in handling, fuel efficiency, and reliability. The current offerings of this segment is leaps better than majority of the offerings of mid 2010s and older.

However, each maker is just slightly missing the mark here and there, and you are pretty much just cross shopping compromises. Unibody or body on frame? Lose physical buttons? Get touchscreen distractions spanned across your entire dash? Half baked infotainment system? Laughable trunk space with the third row up? No fold flat third row? Off-road/overland trim, but barely capable and/or not even a good enough platform to warrant aftermarket support?

At the current prices new or used, how long these cars last when taken care of, and being a "bang for buck"/"buy once cry once" kind of person. Nothing has really been compelling enough for me to purchase a 3 row for my spouse. (Nuclear family with kids really close in age that regularly road trip)

When it comes to crossovers, compact, and sedans. (Non sport/performance trims) The prices are alright, just find a solid example of something made within the past decade within your budget, take care of it, it takes care of you.

The sports car or performance trim segment is where I'm also torn. On one hand, everything is so much faster, capable, and more reliable (debatable) as time goes on. The other, is that the essence of what made older cars of the same segment great is slowly getting neutered out of the overall driving and owning experience.

  8. I have a M283FDW, it's great besides the firmware for toner checks. The one time I tried a third party toner, only to have it get bricked a week later, made me want to try to tackle creating a custom firmware or just straight come up with a drop in mainboard.

Would be an interesting project if I had the spare time

  9. I want this for my HTPC, but cant justify the price. Happy to see other similar options mentioned here.
  10. Getting back into the "maker"/"tinker" groove.

Modifying and calibrating my 3d printer(s), chasing speed while maintaining print quality.

Using CAD more seriously, trying to challenge myself with more complex projects and models. Current project is to make a CoreXY Plotter from an old 3d printer I just disassembled.

Wanting to get/make a CNC Mill/Router to finally have the ability to work on some bigger "cooler" projects. ex. I have a custom PC case model that I've been working on, and can't wait to build for the upcoming rig upgrade.

  11. Loved my HD555s, did the foam removal instantly, but wouldn't say it was a game changer.

Rocked the Zalman clip on mic and moved on to doing the 3.5mm detachable mod and used a V-Moda BoomPro.

Still a great setup today, especially for gaming. Sadly lacking in bass.

  12. I've been using valinet/ExplorerPatcher on Win11 for a bit just to bring back all the old Win10 taskbar stuff. I know we should even need this, but I hope this is helpful.

  13. I've been running a APU3B4 with PFSense for the past 6 years. Still going strong. Sad to hear about this.
  14. Foxhole is something that sounds similar to what you are describing.
  15. Footnote 20-22 indicates it has a backlight. Which is honestly something I want just because I want to be able to read in a dark or low light room. Something which has kept me from buying a remarkable.
  16. Awesome! Glad to know that someone out there is enjoying this tool. Has definitely given me more motivation to polish it up, rather than me slogging along.

I honestly did the referral link to the model search because prior to doing so I was trying to price check, but don't have a programmatic way of doing that without access to the Associates API.

I did it manually at first, but then saw price drifts within a couple of days. On top of that, some models on the list were out of production and I was hesitant to link pricing to models that were likely to be refurbished, old stock, or listed as used.

I wasn't aware of ASIN, I do like the approach better, so I can work on getting that switched over when I get free time over the weekend.

    Thanks again for your feedback!

  17. Doh! I was accidentally reverting the state to the very beginning when applying the column sort. I just deployed the fix for that
  18. And shortly after, I managed figure it out! Shouldn't be happening again
  19. I get that sometimes too. I just refresh the page because I have no idea where that's coming from. It's definitely high on the list to resolve
  20. Haha thanks for catching that. Will be sorting that out now
