Tsundoku (積ん読) is the phenomenon of acquiring reading materials but letting them pile up in a home without reading them.
- How are you measuring productivity these days Simon? Do you have a boss that has certain expectations? If you don't hit those are you going to lose your house?
- I don't think so, but I grew up before cell phones and AI so I had to learn how to read. I'll leave the explanation for the rest who skip over the guillemet at the beginning like I did.
- In this case the "writing system" is the set of typos that would occur when someone with an English and Korean keyboard layout forgets to switch off English and keystrokes what they expect would be the Korean. "Midjourney" is "alemwjsl" in that typo writing system
- Can you share why it was non-trivial? I'm curious about how folks are evaluating the quality of their solutions when the project space is non trivial and unfamiliar
- I mean, in an ideal system we would have political agency greater than the sum of individuals who would put pressure/curtail the rise of abusive actors taking advantage of power and informational asymetry to try and gain more power (wealth) and influence (wealth) in order to gain more wealth
- Ok, so what your describing is a pinky promise. I'm guessing enforcement requires people which is magically _too expensive_ and therefore worthless.
- Edward Tufte strikes again
- The parts where traffic generates money for the kind of people who would think putting an advertisement on a screen on someone's home refrigerator is an acceptable thing to do (morally, not legally or whatever).
Extrapolate that how you will.
- You know, back in the day, teachers used to try and convey the "why" behind things like writing essays and reading books. Spark notes existed, but a good teacher could convey, hey, there is a reason we are doing this thing, it is because it has value outside the note that says you completed the task itself.
- > How can a company be found liable if a used lies about their age?
You make them bleed money when you find they are in violation. They either figure it out or they go under as a company. There isn't a natural law saying companies have a right to exist.
- That's the question though isn't it. If everyone got a subscription to claude-$Latest would they be able to pay their rent with it?
- Has anyone figured out how to avoid everything mysteriously being repriced to account for UBI?
- Russia invading Ireland would be like China invading Cuba.. there's a geo in geopolitics for a reason..
- Do you have anything supporting this?
What level of granularity of fidelity are you referring to?
Damned if you. Damned if you don't.
