  1. Teslas get regular OTA updates. They sometimes fail, but they've been remotely patching their vehicles for years.
  2. She didn't voluntarily choose "Send me pregnancy related ads," the system inferred that from her history/context. She's asking why the system couldn't also infer that her pregnancy failed, after she made a considerable amount, if not more/stronger signals for the later.
  3. Driving is a much smaller scope than technology. If you restrict the development of technology skills, when you eventually reintroduce technology it will take months or even years to catch up to peers that have been using technology for their entire life.
  4. At what time were they expect to be making 5000 cars/week in January?
  5. Heroku, HBO, Discord, Amazon Prime, etc all have free trials/plans that require a credit card . . .
  6. Yes, because China being lower on the developmental scale than the US is a bad thing.

Also, copying isn't cheating. Copying/imitating is the free market at work.

  7. Groupme. Largest group messaging app used, by far. There is also a large number using Discord, but that is mostly the more nerdy/gamer kids. No one wants to use facebook, but unfortunately most of the parents use facebook so they are forced to use it by association.
  8. This is a poor article. Props to Fortnite for having a higher percentage of female players, but the article doesn't provide any legit justification for it. An inside source providing vague information doesn't really help the legitimacy of the article.

The game isn't as much aimed as females as gender neutral. Without spending money there is a random chance that you play each match as a boy or girl, and the idea that "when you play as a girl character, guys will help you” is complete bs.

More important to the games success (and it's higher percentage of women playing) is a lower barrier to entry than other more hardcore games such as PUBG or Battlefield. The game was designed to be easy to get in to, and is available on almost all platforms. This more than anything has led to it's smashing success, not "women characters"

  9. But they disabled the store on the streaming app. So in function it was separate.
  10. Buying (or trying to buy) 50% of the total supply of mining equipment would substantially increase the price, to the point where the ROI is so long that it becomes unprofitable (especially if your long-term goal is a $0 bitcoin).
  11. But do they really need to answer those questions? Clearly they don't want to publisize the establishments that they called. The most likely record calls (although they probably don't know if the final product will) and why would they confirm that they have done something illegal.

It doesn't hurt them to not answer these questions, and they definitely don't want to answer some of them, so why would they?

  12. WSJ has been publishing a ridiculous number of Tesla articles lately. Some (most?) have a negative slant. Tesla is not that entertaining to require several articles per week.
  13. Fun fact, that episode was actually based off of their previous videos.
  14. Crypto certainly has, if not more, at least the same utility than jewelry. Trust less, distributed ledgers--these aren't tulips.
  15. Model, Case/Skin, Charge, Lock screen image. . .
  16. "Github transfers organizational ownership after owner becomes inactive"

Sounds fairly benign. Ownership transfers happen all across the web with, to give a few examples, subreddits, social media handles, messaging groups, etc. Why can't Github do the same?

  17. No, because the only thing the EU is gunning after is how easy it is to access the information. Easy to access though simple google search? Needs to be removed. Only found through searching through archives? Not a problem.
  18. "nothing useful that has benefited humanity"

This is just a list of benefits that humans have gotten from space travel. Space travel in general is, in fact, beneficial to humanity and science.

  19. Can you not change your name in the EU? Seems like someone changing their name would be able to solve some of these issues.
  20. Can't they just keep making Falcons if they run into delays with BFR?
  21. While Tesla's response to the accident has been very aggressive (to the point of being rude), transparency is also important. Not being able to talk about an accident for an entire year would be a disservice to the community and most likely lead to rampant speculation considering how high profile these accidents are.

In this case Tesla has handled the entire incident rather poorly, but it makes sense that they would want to abstain from the investigation to be more transparent about what happened. Keep in mind that in a year from now the data about the accident will be mostly irrelevant.

  22. Only ~30% of Americans own guns [1]. Almost all Americans use cars. And most people do not consider cars to be safe. The regulation and training to receive a drivers license is also much more extensive than buying a gun.

  23. The camera feed going straight to the neural network will not have a lot of latency. The neural net will not take very long to process the image and make a decision. Humans need at best half a second and at worst several seconds to recognize, process, and act. These systems are designed to be fast to responds. They do not have a second of latency.
  24. Not exactly the same, but here's a javascript plugin that can add more content to the bottom of the page as you scroll down.

  25. The promotional material shows the application interpreting a screenshot of an equation, not handwriting.

I also meant noun, not verb. Thanks.

  26. How? "Screenshot" is used correctly by the OP.

    For reference:

      screenshot
(verb) an image of the data displayed on the screen of a computer or mobile device.
  27. Current cars aren't exactly designed for "leisure." In the future we will probably see more car designs centered around leisure such as sleeping, working, or eating.
