Coolest project: Deploying a tensorflow computer vision model with swift preprocessing/business logic across iOS, WASM, Android. Very broad scope of responsibilities. Ask me about state machines!
I focus on the "middle end" - state management, interface design, and architecture. This position gives me the most leverage to isolate and mitigate technical debt. I'm the go-to for gnarly technical problems on every team I've been on.
I'd love to work in the physical space integrating hardware and software, I have a machine shop and CNC/machine building experience.

I work on high-throughput PostgreSQL systems, especially when they’ve grown into a state where migrations, performance, or schema design have become limiting factors.
Recent work:
Re-architected two multi-terabyte OLTP tables (~2TB and ~1TB) receiving 200+ writes/sec. I focus on “rescue architecture” work: fixing dangerous schemas, stabilizing hot paths, removing app-level complexity, and making Postgres scale without rewriting the product.
Open to consulting or full-time roles where Postgres is core to the business and performance/architecture matters.

Summary: I’m a full-stack engineer who specializes in building fast, clean MVPs and shipping product without the corporate overhead. I’ve helped founders and small teams build AI-powered platforms, automation tools, and SaaS dashboards from zero → production. I’m comfortable owning features end-to-end — front-end, back-end, architecture, deployments — and working async across time zones.
I’m looking for roles where I can collaborate directly with founders, move quickly, and build software that actually gets used. Contract, fractional, and full-time opportunities welcome.

Hello, I'm Didier, an experienced developer with 10+ years of experience. Starting from 2012, I worked for top open source players in France, mostly Drupal, Symfony, NextJS. I am specialized in facetted searches (from ApacheSolr to MongoDB) and data migration (working with any sources GraphQL, XML, Json...).
As a IBS sufferer, I took a carreer break to research scientific papers about the symbiotic relationship (prebiotic + probiotic) and plant based supplements, from this I wrote two ebooks in french and created a coaching program.
I am now actively searching for web development work contracts, full time or part time, if you're looking for an experienced web dev contact me on Linkedin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/didier-boff-ba6683118/).
PS:
Recently I updated my skills to best practices of using LLM in VS Code, no BS, enterprise grade, with respect to confidentiality, clarity on model usage, specifications (spec driven development). From this deep dive, I created a Udemy course which you can access for free with my coupon code below:

AI Engineer building production agentic systems. MS in AI from Northeastern, graduating May 2025.
At Vizit, I built Project Spark: an agentic system that orchestrates multiple analysis modules (benchmarking, clustering, vision-language reasoning) to diagnose and fix low-performing e-commerce images. Lifted visual appeal scores by 30% across 20+ global brands. Also built a 5M+ scale semantic search pipeline with CLIP embeddings, drift monitoring, and quantized inference.
Previously at AG Mednet, I built Judi-Insights: agents that wrote complex SQL, queried production DBs, and delivered clinical trial reports with <5% hallucination. Modular RAG with custom rerankers on vector DB.
Side projects: Kube-Agent (LLM-based SRE for Kubernetes via natural language), PalursRAG (attention-based dynamic chunk reordering).
Research: multimodal attention on 150K video dataset, Digital Twin personalization with LoRA adapters. Published at IEEE AIxSET 2025, Applied Sciences. Patent holder.
Looking for: AI/ML Engineer, Applied Scientist, or Agent Engineer roles. Interested in agentic systems, multimodal AI, and production ML. I ship fast and own problems end-to-end.

Spent the last 5 years at Google building and operating critical services with huge scale. I designed and shipped distributed monitoring systems, migrated a huge global, sharded database to safe rollout automation, and shipped code in Go, Python and C++, both internal tooling, as well as instrumenting and adding features to user-facing binaries serving many QPS. Half the time I was production oncall for these services too. Before this, moved fast at startups and mid-sized US companies. Now seeking: Backend or infrastructure engineering roles where I can build resilient systems that matter. Strong preference for companies with meaningful mission, but open to any team with high ownership culture. In my work, I care a lot about resilient design, long-term operability, and reliability and would like to work with others who are similarly oriented.

Research Engineer who ships. I bridge the gap between academic research and production systems. I hold an MS CS (Georgia Tech) with published research at NeurIPS/NAACL, but my focus is on building things that work in the real world and understanding why they break.
My writing on human expertise and AI hit #1 on r/ArtificialIntelligence (>200k views). My essay on my own resilience was shared by Jeff Dean.
What I build: End-to-End Local Voice AI: A privacy-first voice assistant running locally using Whisper + Ollama + Mistral. Full-stack integration of audio and LLM modalities on consumer hardware. Automation from the Inside: I currently work retail while rebuilding my career. I wrote a technical analysis of why store automation fails, examining sim-to-real drift, impedance mismatch, and latent provenance. Not from a lab. From the floor. Research training under prominent AI researcher. I know how to go from paper to experiment design.
What I'm looking for: A role in ML Engineering, Applied Research, or LLM Evaluation where the job is to take cutting-edge systems and make them robust in the real world. I'm interested in the seams, where models meet reality and break. Whether that's building or stress-testing, I want to be close to the failure modes.

Available for Unity UI-based App/Game Development, Gaming Backends, and UI/UX Design Opportunities – One-Man Army from Concept to Launch
I’m currently available for on-site/remote roles worldwide, as well as remote opportunities in Unity UI (uGUI, UI Toolkit) based App/Game Development, including gaming backends and UI/UX design. As a one-man army, I have a proven track record of taking projects from concept to launch across desktop, mobile, and web.
Here’s a summary of what I’ve been working on over the past 5 years: www.linkedin.com/posts/manofspirit_opentowork-activity-7237722209241214977-U3ZG
As a versatile designer and developer, I’ve created UI-based 2D games and applications with multiplayer features, ranging from XR-based Metaverse app WeDream to the NASBA-accredited educational app Earmark CPE, to Scrabble-inspired UGC-based Word Game, and even Ludo and Bonza-inspired puzzle games across various platforms.
Starting with GameSparks (RIP) in 2014, I’ve since worked with BrainCloud, PlayFab with Azure Scripting, Epic Online Services, and most recently started exploring Xsolla Backend (AcceleratXR). I’ve built fully integrated BAAS games and apps that often include async multiplayer, user-generated content (UGC), social integration (friends, messaging, etc.), tournaments, achievements, leaderboards, and monetization strategies (in-app purchases, subscriptions, virtual currencies, sales, ad mediation, etc.). Additionally, I’ve developed Unity-based admin tools for seamless management of users, content, and reporting.
On the UI/UX side, I started with Adobe Photoshop 8 and CorelDraw 9 almost 20 years ago; today I design beautiful applications and 2D games while utilizing my development skills to automate design tools for bulk art generation, variations, and solving repetitive tasks. I also leverage AI tools like MidJourney to push beyond creative limits.
Even though my focus is on the design and development of backend-driven Unity-based apps/games, my diverse skill set and ability to wear multiple hats allow me to seamlessly contribute to every stage of a project—from initial concept and UX design to backend integration, multiplayer systems, and final launch. This versatility enables me to adapt to different roles and challenges, delivering comprehensive solutions that align with the project’s goals.
If you have any openings that align with these diverse skills, I’d love to connect and explore how I can contribute.
Personally I'm looking for a job that I feel like actually has some kind of positive benefit on the world, or something that seems particularly challenging or interesting. This can range anywhere from a note-taking application to managing retirement funds to writing a Typescript to Go compiler to writing a new database. I'm not interested in one of the 5 million AI hype cycle jobs (partly because I dislike LLMs), and I actively hate the blockchain, ads, and tracking users. I do not, and will never, compromise on privacy issues.
A list of things you should know about me and how I'm going to do my best work for you:
* I want to be able to work on something a bit more interesting than another simple REST application.
* I want my hours to be flexible, meaning when I start/end or being able to take some time in the middle of the day for groceries or a doctors appointment.
* I want to be able to come up with ideas I think would be useful/interesting and be given some time to work on them. I know that there are things I'm going to have to do for the business that aren't going to be these things, but I need some amount of time to do this or I'm going to struggle as a worker.
* I'm going to have strong opinions about all sorts of things, and I expect to be able to have a conversation about them and not just be dismissed.
* I'm going to want to improve things, and if I continuously get told "no", it's going to kill my morale.
I've previously lived in Japan a couple decades ago and studied the language intensively for 2 years at that time in one of the schools dedicated to helping foreigners go to university or get jobs there. (specifically at: 東京平田日本語学院. I almost passed JLPT N2 then, but I'm nowhere close to that level currently) I've recently been picking back up on studying Japanese again to maybe fulfill a long-held dream of going back to Japan longer than a vacation. So on the off chance you're someone in Japan hiring for a position you think I'd be a fit for (and you're not a black company), please reach out.
