Ignoring a legal parcel in France means receiving, years from now, a "request for personal appearance of the parties" somewhere from a local court to the cour de cassation, where they will have to notify that your request was ignored. It's in their interest to give a quick reply, even just to say "Uhh... nope, sue us if you want to go on with your lost cause".
