No clearly labeled pricing link or mention of how much it costs. Stop decepting people like that and simply tell them what they obviously want to know, that is the best marketing you can do. Dark patterns are violence towards other human beings. Thank you.

Otherwise it looks great, but that turned me away. Yes, I know Apple forces you into transparency about it on the app store, but I don't buy products from companies that employ these patterns.

The app store lists the prices (I think it might be mandatory to have the prices there), but here you go:

- 1 Month $9.99

- 6 Month $39.99

- Ultra 3 Month $24.99

- 12 Month $19.99

Thank you for taking the time to post this!

I agree that it's extremely annoying to not have pricing up front and that hiding it is a dark pattern, but calling it "violence" is at best comical. Can we please reserve it as a term for instances of actual measurable harm if not physical harm?

(My original reply to this was flagged for some reason. I don't see how it can be seen as a violation of HN guidelines to explain how I arrive at my personal opinion.)

"Psychological violence is the use of verbal and non-verbal communication with the intent to harm somebody mentally or emotionally or to exert control over somebody." (WHO)

For example, neglect is nowadays typically included in a definition of psychological and emotional violence, also on legal levels (domestic violence, childcare).

I consider it to be psychological violence, causing harm on a mental level.

I bet a study comparing sites with dark patterns to sites using the HCI studies for what they were meant for will show that dark patterns cause stress on various measurable levels, which is simply harmful to an organism.

If done on purpose, is is a deliberate form of causing harm to others. Death by a thousand papercuts. Just because we are so used to treating each other violently every day, we can still call it by its name and identify it as ultimately damaging. I would not be surprised if it was a contributing factor to cancers, for example. Yes, miniscule, but still.

By calling it out as violence, I am not saying that there are no worse forms of violence.

Gotcha! Thank you for the feedback! The challenges and programs are free to try! You can swipe down on the paywall if you want to. Appreciate the honesty and will apply that, hopefully, some other time! :-)

You're telling us here on HN to swipe down but you've deliberately designed the screen so that it appears you can't skip it.

We're just referencing off of other apps for the design since we were new to this. We have the onboarding, paywall, and the main content which I think is the norm for most consumer apps.

Hope you got to see some of the stuff we made! If you got any tips on what helped you on your journey, I'd like to hear that too! Appreciate ya :-)
