"Just Add The Friction Back Into The Tech You Make, Please" isn't any sort of remedy to the problem of techno isolation. I think it only tries to solve the designer's problem of being noticed more with longer splash screens or something. I wonder if the authors have heard of Variable Reward a.k.a. artificial time-delayed friction, being crucial for addictive habit formation.

As for AI, it indulges us in a much more respectable way than the editor and audience aligned legacy media does and that's why AI is so great, it isn't seeking clout or repeat business by exploiting our attention, you get one-shot instant solutions.
