I am interested in hearing how you use LLMs to extend/accelerate/spread your thinking or understanding. For instance, one approach I find useful is to ask for long lists of competing ideas (theories of consciousness in this example) and to also ask to summarize them as metaphors. The literal and metaphorical summaries may not be entirely accurate, but are great pointers to explore further. Here's an example: https://chat.openai.com/share/73244032-d778-4111-add8-decb50845b1e

What are other useful approaches? Thanks!

Exploring a topic and then asking for specific book recommendations, getting it to argue both sides of an issue to see weak points, giving quizzes on topics. Also love using it to keep asking for practical examples of abstract ideas.
You can dump a PDF with best practices, or just put it in the system prompts. It's easier now with GPTs and assistants supporting custom prompts by default.

So like what I do is a name brainstorming tool that gives aspects and examples of good names.
