The Radionomy team recently resigned and the fate of Winamp beyond 5.9.2 seems to be unclear.

This announcement came out from a staff member recently:

"Because the future of Winamp Forum is uncertain, we recommend that you download manuals or other explanations of problems with both Winamp and Shoutcast. So that you can always fall back on your own database if something does not work as it should"

and in another post:

"Winamp employee here. While there hasn't been any formal communication, the desktop player development is effectively on hold since the departure of DJ Egg and the remaining of the desktop team after the release of version 5.9.2. You can check https://www.llama-group.com for the latest company info. TLDR : We are currently under Judicial Reorganization. Winamp's parent group sold Shoutcast to be able to repay old debts.

There have been layoffs affecting the development of the desktop player. We're focused on building a modern web and mobile platform."

All is not lost, however, A few months ago, the community came together for this reimplementation:

I'm unsure how long this community project will last, either. I hope more people look into it.

Nevertheless, this may be a good time as any to say bye-bye to good ol' Winamp. If you actually liked it, download it, archive it, back it up ... you know the drill.

Sad news. A few years ago I re-discovered Winamp and since have been using it daily. I wonder what's the best way to archive the forums.
