So I looked into that, and their Discord explicitly says not to use it for support. So I am confused?

Most anything that says "don't use this for support" means "this is an effective means of support" - it's just not guaranteed.

Exactly. It's like those signs on residential streets that say "Speed Bumps Ahead." What they really say is "This road is a good shortcut."
