the article says that it wrecks havoc on city finances. obviously, they are referring to the silicon valley exodus. most of the move is to red states with less tax burden demands.

also: california will chase you and claim taxes even if you move to another state and if you ask much own a tiny apartment or a utility bill in your name. which means that those who are moving out..its the same with businesses..if their goal is to give their businesses a chance to survive financially will have to cut ALL ties with california. clean cut. they'd have no reason to return.
But it’s not republicans who are leaving. It’s the blue contingent that is leaving CA in droves ..at least in my circle. It’s very interesting. There is a real possibility that by next election Texas might turn blue. We’ll see what happens.

As a Californian I can simply laugh and say, "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."
And I'm still waiting for the all the Republicans in Southern California to decamp for their Red State utopias.
