What source do you have that confirms this? Everything I've read says it is not yet determined if this is the case.
I believe you can get reinfected with a different strain of the same virus. Not the one you initially got infected with though.

The simple explainer is that almost all viruses give immunity so there is no reason to fear this one doesn’t.
The immunity might last a month or a year. Or two weeks or ten years. That we don’t know.
That has not been proven or disproven at this point.
